The Independent Travel review August 2012

We've had a wonderful 2 page review of Oriel Milgi and St Dogmaels in The Independent on Sunday's travel section by Rhiannon Batten who stayed with us last February: "Opened last November in pretty St Dogmaels, this three-room B&B, a few doors down from the village shop, looks like any other village house from the outside. Step over the threshold, however, and you find yourself inside a cosseting seaside retreat. Once a sea-captain's house, Oriel Milgi is a picture of grace, with a spiralling Georgian staircase at its heart, custom-designed doors, and a mix of contemporary and vintage furnishings. There's also a commitment to sustainability that runs to softly coloured, non-toxic paintwork and renewable energy." Click here to read the full review

The Guardian - Top 10 Pembrokeshire pubs - Teifi Netpool - St Dogmaels

Teifi Netpool Inn, St Dogmaels Situated on the tidal Teifi Estuary, St Dogmaels is a former fishing village with a working corn-mill, a ruined abbey and several good pubs. Worth seeking out is the Teifi Netpool Inn, slightly off the main thoroughfare and once the hub of the local salmon industry; the "netpool" of the name was a noted salmon netting pool in the river below the pub. Many relics of the industry are on display, including a coracle. A well-run village local, the Teifi Netpool is being gradually refurbished, and the new-look restaurant serves good-quality pub food seven days a week. There are real ales from Breconshire Brewery, including the popular Ramblers Ruin, and Welsh ciders on draught. Families will appreciate the large outdoor play area on the adjoining village green. • 01239 612680, teifinetpoolinn.com http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2012/jul/11/top-10-pubs-pembrokeshire-wales?newsfeed=true

'Top 10 hotels and B&Bs in Pembrokeshire' Guardian Online review

"Oriel Milgi, St Dogmaels Opened last November in this pretty coastal village right at the far northern reaches of the county, Oriel Milgi's name refers to its owners' twin passions for art and whippets. Once a sea captain's house, the B&B's three bedrooms now set rustic wooden headboards and French linen sheets against sleek, contemporary bathrooms, vintage furniture and local art ("Coed" is the most decadent with its attached wet room and views out across the garden to the estuary beyond) but, more importantly, hospitality is done to Olympic standards. • 01239 612556, http://www.orielmilgi.co.uk.
